Tier Program set up - Ways to Redeem - Part 2

Set how customers in each VIP tier can redeem their points. This guide covers creating a redemption rule, limiting it to a tier, and setting tier rules for the rewards widget, third-party checkouts and Shopify checkouts.

1. Open Redemption Rules

Go to https://merchant.nector.io/ and click Programs in the left menu, then Redemption Rules. This page lists every rule that decides how customers can spend their points.

2. Choose where the rule applies

Click the tab for where customers will redeem their points. For the rewards widget and rewards page, click Floating Widget & Page, then click Create Redemption Rule.

The Create Redemption Rule button only works after you pick a tab. Rules for checkouts are under Integrations and Other Widgets, covered later in this guide.

3. Pick a discount type

Choose the kind of discount customers get for their points:

• Dynamic Amount Discount: the more points they spend, the bigger the discount (for example, every 100 points = ₹10 off)
• Fixed Amount Discount: a set amount off (for example, flat ₹100 off)
• Dynamic Percentage Discount: a percentage off that grows with the points spent
• Fixed Percentage Discount: a set percentage off
• Free Shipping

Tip: 💡 Tip: You can keep one redemption rule for all customers, or create a separate rule for each tier so higher tiers get bigger discounts. To limit a rule to a tier, you need to create your tiers first (see Tier Program Part 1).

4. Set the discount limits

Fill in how the discount works. For a Dynamic Amount Discount:

• Points Required To Get The Starting Discount: for example, 1
• Starting Discount: for example, ₹1
• Maximum Possible Discount: the most a customer can get off in one order, for example ₹300 for Bronze
• Minimum Cart Amount (optional)

Click Create.

5. Open the rule to edit it

The new rule appears in the list. Click the ☰ menu on its row and choose Edit Redemption Rule.

6. Limit the rule to a tier

Click the Advanced Settings tab. Under Tier Restriction, open Select the tiers and pick the tier this rule is for, such as Bronze. Only customers in that tier will see this rule.

7. Save the rule

Click Save. Check the Discount Summary on the right to make sure the rule works the way you want.

8. Create a rule for each tier

Repeat these steps for your other tiers, raising the maximum discount for higher tiers. For example:

• Bronze: up to ₹300 off
• Silver: up to ₹500 off
• Gold: up to ₹800 off

Each customer only sees the rule for their own tier in the rewards widget and on the rewards page.

9. Set tier rules for third-party checkouts

If you use a third-party checkout such as GoKwik, click Integrations > Checkouts and choose your checkout. Edit its redemption rule, or create one for each tier, and set the Tier Restriction under Advanced Settings the same way. Click Save.

10. Set tier rules for Shopify checkouts

Click Other Widgets and choose where customers redeem their points:

• Points Redeem Widget (PDP / Cart): for Shopify Native checkout, on product and cart pages
• Points Redeem Widget (Checkout): for Shopify Plus checkout

Create or edit a rule for each tier and set the Tier Restriction the same way. Your tier-based redemption is now set up wherever your customers check out.
