Setting Up Loyalty Program - Part 4 (Ways to Redeem For Shopify Plus)

Shopify Plus Checkout Redemption Process

Welcome to your Shopify Plus Checkout Redemption Setup Guide! 🎉

This guide walks you through configuring point redemption at checkout for Shopify Plus stores. With this setup, customers can redeem their loyalty points directly during checkout, enhancing their shopping experience while reinforcing your brand’s reward-driven relationship.

By the end of this guide, you’ll have a fully functional “Redeem Points” widget visible during checkout — allowing shoppers to see their available coins and instantly apply discounts. Let’s get started! 🌟

Step 1 - Access the Redemption Rule Section

Why it matters:

This is where all your redemption configurations live. You’ll start here to ensure your checkout rule aligns with your existing loyalty settings.

How to do it:

• From the Nector dashboard, navigate to the Program section in the left menu.

• Click on Redemption Rule to access your current configuration options.

Step 2 - Review Existing Redemption Rules

Before setting up checkout redemption, confirm your existing dynamic rule (e.g., “1 point = ₹1 off”) is already active for the Floating Widget and Reward Page.

This ensures consistency between your existing rewards display and the upcoming checkout setup.

Step 3 - Open the “Other Widgets” Menu

Step 4 - Initialize and Enable Checkout Redemption

Click Initialize, then toggle Enable to activate point redemption at checkout.

Step 5 - Begin Creating the Redemption Rule

Step 6 - Navigate to Redemption Rule Setup

Step 7 - Create the Dynamic Amount Discount Rule

Recreate your previous dynamic amount discount rule — for example:

1 point = ₹1 off

This keeps your redemption consistent between the widget, rewards page, and checkout.

Step 9 - Confirm Both Rules Are Active

Once setup is complete, point redemption will now be available at checkout.

Click on All to view both active redemption rules — one for the Floating Widget and one for Checkout.

Step 10 - Access Online Store Settings

Why it matters:

To make redemption visible to customers, you need to display the widget on your Shopify Plus checkout page. From your Shopify Admin Panel, proceed to install it.

Navigate to your store and select Online Store. Here, you can explore the available themes and choose Customize Theme.

• Go to your Shopify Admin → Online Store

• Click Themes → Customize Theme

Step 12 -Add the Checkout Widget to Your Store

Once in the theme editor:

• Select Checkout from the navigation dropdown.

• Click Customize to begin editing your checkout layout.

Step 13 - Add the Redeem Points Widget

In the checkout customization panel:

  1. Click on Apps.
  2. Choose Add to Checkout.
  3. Select the Redeem Points Widget from the list.

đź’ˇ Tip: Place the widget near the order summary for maximum visibility and engagement.

Step 14 - Save and Activate

Click Save to apply your changes.

The Redeem Points Widget will now appear during checkout, displaying the customer’s available points and redemption options.

Step 15 - Verify in Nector Dashboard

Head back to your Nector dashboard to ensure the checkout redemption toggle and rules are correctly configured.

Step 16 -Preview the Customer Checkout Experience

Step 17 - Test the Redemption Flow

Customers can click the Redeem Points button to automatically apply a coupon code.

The discount will appear instantly in their order summary, completing the redemption process.

Step 18 - Wrap Up the Setup

You’ve now completed the Shopify Plus Checkout Redemption Configuration! 🥳
