Referral Communications

Here we will look at how you can setup the various notifications that will be sent to the referrer and the customer who was referred.

Notifying the referee



It will be setup automatically if the Referral was enabled during the onboarding.

This is used to send a notification to the referred customer with their unique coupon code, after they enter their email in the link shared by the referrer.

Got to Referral Page and click on the Reward & Notification Settings tab in the side-bar and scroll to Notify Referee section.

Here, you can add email/event notification for the referrer who was referred. You can send a notification to the referee by adding it under Notify Referee.




In this example we will show you how to add an email template,

Click on Add button and then a popup opens select Send an Email, the below image will appear.




Click on Create New Template. You will have to create the first time, from the next time if you need it, you can select that template.

Scroll to Available Templates section, in this section you can use ready made templates to create a new template. Find the Referral Coupon Claim template as a starting point and click on it. After that you can make any changes if needed and click on Save button to save the changes.




Then go back to the page and choose your newly created template, and click on Create. The email would be ready as shown below





Notifying the referrer



This is optional and not needed in most cases.

This is used to send a notification to the referrer about the reward they received, when the customer they referred placed an order and was successfully referred.

Go to Referral Page and click on the Reward & Notification Settings tab and scroll to Notify Referrer section.

You can send an email/event with a coupon code to the customer who was referred by adding it under Notify Referrer section. This will be triggered only when the referral is completed and the referee has received the reward.




In this example we will show you how to add an email template,

Click on Add button and then a popup opens select Send an Email, the below image will appear.




Click on Create New Template.

In the new page, click on Create button. Here, you will have to design the email template from scratch or use an appropriate one from the "**Available Templates** section.




After that make the necessary changes and design your new template, finally click on Save button to save the changes.




Then go back to the page and choose your newly created template and click on Create. The email would be ready as shown below





Defining conditions to automatically nudge referee about the pending referrals



This is an optional feature. It can be used as a means to improve the referral performance on your store.

To improve the referrals, you can enable the referral notify automation. This can be used to nudge or remind the referred customers who still haven't placed an order on your store.

Switch to Incomplete Referral Request tab and scroll to Notify the referred customer section and add email/event notification for the customer.




Possible notification mediums are:

Email - You can setup an email, which will nudge the customer via email. PS. you can design the email template on nector dashboard.
Event - You can setup events, which will communicate with the connected tools like Klaviyo, Omnisend, Mailchimp etc, who can utilise the event data and convey to the customers.

In this example we will show you how to add an email template,

As there is no predefined template, you will have to create the first time, from the next time you can select that template. So click on Create New Template

Find the template Incomplete Referral Coupon Claim to use as starting point and click on it. After that you can make any changes if needed and click on Save button to save the changes.




Then go back to the page and choose your newly created template, and click on Create. The email would be ready as shown below





Then define the condition based on which Nector will search for customers' who were referred and haven't placed the order yet.

Please enable the toggle, define the condition and click on the Update button to save it.




Understanding the condition‚Äč:

Check referrals from last n days - ideal value is 30, max is 60
Wait for n days after a customer was referred - ideal value is 10, max is 30
How many nudges to send - ideal value is 2, max is 5
Distance between followups - ideal is 10, After how many days nudge should be sent again

To enable or disable the incomplete referral, nudges just toggle the status at the top of the page.
