Referral Communications
Here we will look at how you can setup the various notifications that will be sent to the customer and the friend who was referred.
Notifying the friend
This is used to send a notification to the referred customer with their unique coupon code, after they enter their email in the link shared by the customer. Follow the below example to learn how to add an email notification.
- Go to Referrals page.
- Click on the Rules section from the side-bar and switch to the Friend's Reward Settings tab
- Under Notifying the Friend, click on the Create button.
- A pop up opens where you choose your mode of communication, here we will be clicking on the Send An Email option
- The Emails page will open, with a popup of sending the notification to the friend, all the values will be pre-filled.
- By default it will be created with a predefined Notifying the Customer's Friend template but you can also uncheck and design your own template from scratch.
- If you want to create a new template uncheck and click on Design New Template button. A blank canvas opens where you can customise your email template as you want it. Refer to this Sending Emails article for more details.
- Finally click on Create button, the email would be ready as shown below.
Notifying the customer
This is used to send a notification to the customer about the reward they received, when the friend they referred placed an order and was successfully referred.
You can send an email/event with a coupon code to the customer who was referred. This will be triggered only when the referral is completed and the friend has received the reward.
Follow the below example to learn how to add an email notification,
- Go to Referrals page.
- Click on the Rules section from the side-bar and switch to the Customer Reward Settings tab
- Under Notifying the Customer, click on the Create button.
- A pop up opens where you choose your mode of communication, here we will be clicking on the Send An Email option
- The Emails page will open, with a popup of sending the notification to the customer, all the values will be pre-filled.
