Follow the steps top to bottom to ensure a smooth launch and a seamless customer experience from day one.
1. Finalise Your Loyalty Program Name & Coin Name
Estimated time: 5–10 minutes
Before configuring anything else, decide how your loyalty program will be presented to customers.
Finalize:
- Loyalty program name (e.g. Brand Rewards, Brand Club)
- Coin / points name (e.g. Coins, Gems, Stars, Cashback)
Using branded names improves clarity, recall, and overall program adoption.

2. Configure Your Loyalty Program
Estimated time: 15–30 minutes
Nector’s loyalty program is built on two core components: Ways to Earn and Ways to Redeem.

Understand how earning and redemption rules work together.

Set up Ways to Earn
Define how customers earn coins, such as:
- Signup
- Purchases
- Profile completion (birthday, anniversary)
- Social engagement

Set up Ways to Redeem
Create redemption rules that define how customers can use their coins during checkout, including limits and conditions.

Optionally, fine-tune purchase rewards with caps or exclusions to protect program economics.
3. Connect Your Marketing & Communication Tools
Estimated time: 10–30 minutes
Integrations allow you to automatically communicate with customers when loyalty events occur.
WhatsApp and Email integrations
Connect your email or whatsapp marketing tool to send:
- Welcome messages
- Reward earned notifications
- Referral success emails
- Review requests etc.

4. Enable On-Site Widgets & Pages
Estimated time: 10–20 minutes
Make your loyalty program visible and accessible across your store.
Floating Loyalty & Referral Launcher
Enable and customize the launcher customers click to access rewards and referrals.
You can control desktop/mobile behavior, position, and visibility via Shopify App Embeds.

Design banners for widgets & pages
Create banners that clearly communicate program benefits such as:
- “Earn rewards on every order”
- “Get rewarded for referrals”
- “Turn reviews into rewards”
Use brand colors, icons, and short benefit-driven copy.
5. Configure Referral & Review Programs

Referral program
Set up your referral program and review default rules.
Decide:
- What the referrer earns (coins or discount)
- What the referred friend receives

6. Pre-Launch Import (Optional)

If you are migrating from another platform or launching with existing balances, import customer coins before going live.

After importing, verify a small sample of customers to ensure balances and expiry rules are correct.
7. Add Additional Widgets – Reviews
Estimated time: 10–25 minutes
Increase trust and conversion by displaying reviews on your storefront.

8. Test Before You Announce
Estimated time: 15–30 minutes
Before promoting your program, test the complete customer journey:
- Earn coins
- Redeem rewards
- Complete a referral
- Submit a review
Test on both desktop and mobile, confirm widget placement, and ensure Shopify App Embed changes are saved.
If coins don’t credit in edge cases, you can manually reward customers.

9. Promote Your Program
Estimated time: 30–90 minutes
Prepare a launch announcement explaining:
- What the program is
- How customers earn rewards
- Best first reward
- Referral incentives
Promote your program via:
- On-site banners
- Social media
Add a short FAQ on your site answering:
- How do coins work?
- How do I redeem rewards?
- Where can I see my wallet?
