All features of Contlo

To setup Contlo integration, refer to this article:

If you've successfully completed the setup for Contlo and Nector integration, this article will guide you through the process of sending Events to Contlo in details. In the context of the loyalty program, Events represent various activities related to the user from Nector. These include fundamental activities such as a new user signing up, coin expiry notification or the granting of reward coins in the wallet, to name a few. You can then setup automations on Contlo, which can be triggered when the event occurs on Nector.
For example, when a customer is rewarded with wallet coins, an event can be sent to Contlo, which in turn will trigger an automation that sends an email to the customer.

Before we start explaining the Contlo features, we first need to create an Event which can be send to it.

Sending Events & Setting up Automations

Visit the Events Page on your nector dashboard

As the first step enable the events by toggling the status button on that page. After enabling you will see the below view.

Now switch to the Send Events tab and click on the Create button, a popup will open

Now select the event on which you want to notify the external integration, also select Contlo as the external integration that needs to be notified, and add any filters based on which event sending should be restricted(optional)

There are many events supported on nector. If you don't know which to choose, here are the two events that are most relevant and commonly used:

Wallet Coins Rewarded: This event will be sent whenever wallet coins are rewarded on Nector.
Coupon Is Created: This event will be sent whenever a customer uses his wallet coins to get a discount/coupon code on Nector.

For example,
To send an Wallet Reward Event to an Contlo whenever wallet coins are rewarded to a customer on Nector, you would create the event as shown below.

Once you have entered all the details, click on the Create button in the popup.

Please refer to this article if you want to learn more about managing events:

After you are done setting up events to be sent to Contlo from Nector, you can create automations on Contlo in response to the Events. For this, visit your Contlo dashboard and set up the integration. Read the steps below:

Go to your Shopify admin page and click on Apps and search for Contlo and click on it, dashboard will open

From the Contlo Dashboard, click on Automations and then click on Create Automations

You can choose a predefined template or you can Build From Scratch, here we will show you how to build it from scratch

In the trigger part of the automation, you can choose any event that is sent from Nector. Following the example from before: to send an email whenever a customer is rewarded with wallet coins.

Choose the same Event as created in your Nector platform and select it under "Trigger". Similar to how you created conditions in segments you can also add trigger filters by using the "Add Trigger Filters" button.

Next drag and drop the Email from the message block and enter the "Subject", "Sender Name" and "Sender Email"

To add content, click on the Add Content button and type the message you would like to send, you can add variables, like the username and number of coins for a more personalized email, to use variables you need to write them like shown in the below example underlined.

To know the list of variables available to be used, you can refer to this article: Event details sent to external integrations. Apart from the basic variables sent with every data, you can also find event specific variables from the article

Click on Save and Continue and finally click on Publish Changes and then you can find your newly created automation in the list of automations

To launch it, click on your automation and then click on the Launch Automation button.

Creatings Segments & Campaigns

You can also create segments and campaigns inside Contlo which doesn't require Events. To create,

On the Contlo dashboard, click on Audience and then switch to the Segments tab.

Click on Create Segment tab, and choose your desired choice of segment. Understanding the segments:

Static - Generates a one-time-segment of your customers, based on the preset conditions, will not be updated after initial search.
Live - Data is dynamically fetched in real-time about the customers according to the conditions given for the search.

It is recommended to use Live Segments, if you are not sure, which is more suitable for you

In the next page, give a suitable name for your segment, and then choose your criteria,

Define the initial condition if you want it based on "What someone has done/not done" or "Properties about someone", we will proceed with the latter here.
From the first drop down choose the necessary filter, you can find the Nector related filters with the prefix "Nector:" , in this example we are taking into condition the number of coins user has in his balance
Finally set the limit for the conditions. You can also combine conditions with the help of AND and OR.

Look at the below image for the example,

Click on Create Segment and then you can find your newly created segments under the Live section

You can view the customer details based on the filters applied and also update your conditions if you want.

Now in-order to use this segment of customers for communication, we can use campaigns, to create a campaign follow the below steps:

Go to Campaigns and then click on Create Campaigns, you can choose any one between Email, Whatsapp, or SMS. We will be using the Email campaign for this example, click on Create Email

In the new page, enter the "Campaign Name", and then select the segment you created under the Send To section, this will make sure the email is sent to all the customers in the segment

Configure the "Email Subject", "Sender Email" and "Sender Name" and also design the email template, there are pre-existing templates you can choose from or you can also create your own email using plain text/html.

Finally click on Launch Campaign
