Setting Up Webhook Notifications

Configuring and Testing Webhooks in Nector Dashboard

This document explains how to configure a webhook in the Nector Dashboard, trigger it using a test customer reward, and verify that the webhook payload is correctly received at your webhook endpoint.

Step 1: Prepare a Webhook Endpoint

Copy the webhook URL and secret from the destination where you want to receive webhook events (for example, a test webhook site). This URL will be used as the target endpoint in the Nector Dashboard.

Step 2: Open the Communication Settings

In the Nector Dashboard, navigate from the left-side menu to Communication.

Step 3: Go to Notifications

Within the Communication section, open the Notification page to manage notification channels and webhooks.

Step 4: Start Creating a New Webhook

On the Notification page, click the plus (+) icon to add a new notification, then select Send a Webhook as the notification type.

Step 5: Choose the Webhook Event

Select the event that should trigger the webhook. For example, choose Wallet points rewarded so that a webhook is sent whenever any customer receives loyalty points.

Step 6: Configure Webhook URL and Secret

Paste the copied webhook URL into the Webhook URL field.

Enter the webhook secret to secure and validate that the webhook requests are coming from the Nector Dashboard. In a test environment, you can reuse the same secret from your test webhook tool. Then save or create the webhook.

Step 7: Trigger the Webhook with a Test Reward

To validate the webhook, reward some test coins to a customer from your Nector Dashboard. Choose a test customer profile and proceed to add coins.

Enter a description such as “test,” assign 100 coins (or another test amount), and update/save the customer’s wallet so the reward is applied.

Step 8: Verify Webhook Delivery

Return to your webhook testing URL or tool and check whether the webhook has been received.

Confirm that the webhook entry is visible and review the payload details, such as total savings available, available balance, and the amount of coins that were created for the customer.

Step 9: Reuse the Configuration for Multiple Events

You can repeat the same process to create and store webhooks for multiple events in Nector Dashboard, ensuring different customer activities trigger the appropriate webhook notifications.
