Import Reviews

**Importing Reviews into Nector Platform **

Introduction

Importing reviews into Nector helps you bring all your existing customer feedback—ratings, review text, images, and verification status—into one place. This is especially useful when you’re migrating from another reviews tool or launching Nector reviews for the first time.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to find the Import Reviews feature, download the correct CSV template, fill it in without formatting issues, and upload it successfully so reviews appear correctly on your storefront and dashboard.

Step 1 - Locate the Import Reviews Feature

Begin by navigating to the feature called “Import Reviews” on the dashboard.

Step 2 - Open Import & Bulk Update

From the dashboard:

  • Click Customer Data
  • Then select Import and Bulk Update

Step 3 - View the Reviews Section

Once inside Import and Bulk Update, scroll or navigate to the Reviews section.

Step 4 - Find Import Reviews

Inside the Reviews section, locate Import Reviews.

Step 5 - Start the Import Flow

Click Import to import reviews in bulk from other platforms into the Nector platform.

Step 6 - Choose a Provider

Select the appropriate provider from the available list.

💡 Tip: If you’re migrating from a specific platform/tool, choosing the provider format often reduces formatting errors.

Step 7 - Use Nector Format (Optional)

Alternatively, select the Nectar format and download a sample CSV file for guidance.

Step 8 - Proceed to the Next Step

Proceed to the next step once the previous ones are completed.

Step 9 - Confirm Product Context

Ensure you have discussed the product before proceeding further.

💡 Tip: Confirm product identifiers (Product ID / Reference Product ID / Slug) before uploading, so reviews attach to the right product.

Step 10 - Select Product (If Needed)

If importing reviews for a specific product, select it from the dropdown.

If uploading multiple product reviews, you can leave this unselected.

Step 11 - Set Optional Publish/Verify Flags

This field is optional. Choose to mark reviews as:

  • Published
  • Verified

by checking the respective boxes.

Leave unchecked if not needed.

Step 12 - Download the Sample CSV

Download the Sample CSV file (if using the Nectar format) to proceed with the import.

Step 13 - Confirm Redirect

After downloading, you will be redirected to a confirmation page.

Step 14 - Prepare Your CSV Carefully

Prepare the file for uploading reviews:

  • Do not alter any headers
  • Either email or mobile number is mandatory

💡 Tip: Most import failures happen because headers are renamed or a required identifier (email/mobile) is missing.

Step 15 - Fill in Customer + Source Details

Add required fields such as:

  • Customer name
  • Reference
  • Product
  • Source

Set Source = “Shopify” for Shopify websites, or “custom website” for non-Shopify stores.

Step 16 - Use Reference Product ID

Use the reference product ID for accuracy. Nector uses this to associate reviews correctly.

You may also include a product slug if applicable.

Step 17 - Add Product ID + Review Content

Include the Product ID if needed.

The description field should contain the customer’s review text.

Step 18 - Add Reply, Rating, and Optional Flags

Enter:

  • Brand reply to the review
  • Customer rating

Optional fields:

  • Approved
  • Verified
  • Featured

Step 19 - Use 1/0 for Review Flags + Add Images

For boolean fields use:

  • 1 = Yes
  • 0 = No

For images:

  • Add up to 5 image URLs
  • Separate them with commas

Step 20 - Format Images and Add Created Date

Separate each image URL with a comma.

Add the review created date (modify only the date).

Step 21 - Keep Date Formatting Intact

Ensure the format from T to Z remains unchanged.

Nector records only the date, not the time—so updating the date is okay, but keep the structure consistent.

Step 22 - Upload and Import

The date format should be YYYY-MM-DD.

Once ready:

  • Click Upload File
  • Verify the preview sample review
  • Click Import

💡 Tip: Always double-check the preview to confirm reviews are mapped to the correct product before importing.

Step 23 - Confirm Status + Watch for Email

Check the import status and wait for a confirmation email with the specific subject line.
