Nector and Omnisend Integration

Integrating Nector with Omnisend for Automated Loyalty & Referral Messaging

This process connects your Nector loyalty platform with Omnisend so that all loyalty rewards and referral-related communications are automated via Omnisend flows. You will configure the integration in Nector, generate and connect an Omnisend API key, create events in Nector, and then use those events as triggers in Omnisend automations.

Step 1: Open Email Marketing Integrations in Nector

From the Nector dashboard, use the left-hand navigation menu to access the integrations area.

Under “Integrations,” select Email Marketing to open the list of supported email platforms.

On the Email Marketing integrations page, locate Omnisend and click Configure.

Step 2: Configure the Omnisend Integration and Choose Common Property

After clicking Configure, Nector will prompt you to choose the Common Property used to sync contacts. For this integration, select Email as the common property.

Confirm that Email is set as the common property.

You will also be asked to provide your Omnisend Private API Key, which you will generate in the Omnisend platform in the next step.

Step 3: Generate a Private API Key in Omnisend

In a new tab, log in to your Omnisend account. Navigate to your Store Settings.

Within Store Settings, go to the API section.

On the API page, click Create API Key. Give your API key a clear, descriptive name (you can choose any name that helps you identify this integration).

Name the key as desired.

Assign Full Access permissions to this API key so Nector can fully communicate with Omnisend, then confirm to generate the key.

Once the API key is created, Omnisend will display it on screen.

Copy this newly generated API Key.

Step 4: Connect Omnisend to Nector Using the API Key

Return to the Nector dashboard where the Omnisend configuration is open. Paste the copied Omnisend API key into the Private API Key field, then click Initialize to activate the integration.

After initialization completes successfully, Nector and Omnisend are connected.

Step 5: Create Events in Nector to Send to Omnisend

In Nector, go to the Events section to define which events should be sent to Omnisend as triggers.

Create all the events you want to push to Omnisend (for example, loyalty-related or referral-related events).

As an example, create an event such as “Wallet Point Rewarded.”

This event indicates that whenever a customer receives wallet points, a notification can be sent via Omnisend.

Once created and saved, these events will start flowing from Nector to Omnisend as they occur.

These events are now available in Omnisend to be used as triggers in automations.

Step 6: Use Nector Events as Triggers in Omnisend Automations

Switch to your Omnisend account and create a new automation (journey/flow) that will be triggered by the events sent from Nector.

Within Omnisend, go to the Automations section and create a New Flow. In the trigger configuration, search for and select the event coming from Nector (for example, the wallet reward created event).

In the trigger dropdown, select the specific Nector event you want to use. For this example, choose wallet reward create, which corresponds to the “Wallet Point Rewarded” event configured in Nector.

You should now see this event available as a trigger.

Use this event trigger to build out your customer journey—adding emails, messages, and other actions that should occur whenever the event fires.

You can repeat this process for multiple events created in Nector. All configured events will appear in Omnisend and can be used across your automations.

In the same way, set up additional Nector events and connect them to separate or combined flows in Omnisend for comprehensive loyalty and referral communication.

This completes the integration and event-based automation setup between Nector and Omnisend.
