Nector and MoEngage Integration
Integrating Nector with MoEngage for Email and WhatsApp Communication
This document explains how to connect your Nector account with MoEngage, configure the necessary credentials, create an event in Nector, and then use that event as a trigger in a MoEngage flow.
Step 1: Open the Integration Section in Nector
From the Nector dashboard, use the left-hand navigation menu and click Integration.

Under the Integration section, open the Email Marketing tab.

Step 2: Select MoEngage and Start Configuration
Within the Email Marketing tab, search for MoEngage and click Configure to start the setup.

The configuration form will appear and ask for several details. First, choose the Common Property.

Select the same common property (common ID) that you have already used to integrate MoEngage with your Shopify store or website.

Step 3: Retrieve App (API) ID from MoEngage
In the MoEngage platform, open the left-hand menu and go to Settings.

Within Settings, click on APIs.

On the APIs page, locate the Workspace ID (previously called App ID; it may now be labeled as API ID) and copy it.

Return to the Nector configuration screen and paste this value into the App ID / API ID field.

Step 4: Retrieve and Enter the Data API Key
Back in MoEngage, locate the Data API Key.
Navigate to the section where API keys are listed and identify the Data 1 API key.

Make sure you copy the Data API key, not the Push or any other API key type.

Return to the Nector platform and paste this Data API key into the Private API Key field.

Step 5: Determine and Set the Server Prefix
In MoEngage, check your browser URL for the workspace; you will see a number such as 01 in the domain (e.g., ...moengage.com/v01/...). This number is your Server Prefix.
In Nector, select the corresponding server prefix value from the available options.

For example, if your URL shows 01, choose 01 as the server prefix.

Once all fields are filled (Common Property, App ID/API ID, Private API Key, and Server Prefix), click Initialize to complete the integration.

You should see a success notification indicating that the integration is in place.
Step 6: Create an Event in Nector to Send to MoEngage
After the integration is successfully initialized, navigate to the Events section in Nector.

Click Create Event.
As an example, select WalletPointsRewarded as the event you want to send to MoEngage, then click to Create Event.

Once created, this event will start sending data to MoEngage whenever it is triggered in Nector.
Step 7: Configure a MoEngage Flow Using the Nector Event
Go back to the MoEngage platform and create a new journey/flow to use the event from Nector as a trigger.
Create a new flow and choose Start with a blank canvas.

Give the flow a name (for example, Test) and assign a relevant tag such as incentive.

In the trigger configuration, search for the event you created in Nector (e.g., WalletRewardCreate or the corresponding event name) and select it.

This is the same trigger that was configured on the Nector dashboard and is now visible in MoEngage.

You can now use this event within your flow and design the rest of the customer journey (email, WhatsApp, and other communications) according to your brand’s requirements.

Step 8: Finalize Your Integration and Journeys
With the event connected and visible in MoEngage, your integration between the Nector dashboard and MoEngage is complete. You can continue to build, test, and optimize journeys that leverage these Nector events for your campaigns.
