Nector and CleverTap Integration
CleverTap Integration with Nector for Customer Engagement
This document explains how to integrate CleverTap with Nector so you can send loyalty, referral, and review-related events from Nector to CleverTap. Once connected, these events can be used in CleverTap journeys to trigger personalized customer communications.
Step 1: Open the Integrations Section in Nector
From the Nector dashboard, navigate to the Integrations section using the left-hand panel.

In the Integrations list, search for CleverTap.

When you locate CleverTap, click Configure to open the configuration screen.

Step 2: Select the Common Property (Unique Identifier)
On the CleverTap configuration screen in Nector, first select the Common Property.

This common property is the unique identifier that has already been integrated between CleverTap and Shopify (for example, customer ID).

You may choose customer ID or any other identifier that suits your brand’s setup and data model.

Step 3: Enter CleverTap Credentials and Server Prefix
Next, fill in the required CleverTap credentials in Nector:
• Account ID

• Private Key

• Server Prefix (e.g., IN1 for India)

The server prefix will typically be IN1 if you are using the India data center.

If you are using CleverTap in another region, select the server prefix that matches that region.

Step 4: Retrieve Account ID and Private Key from CleverTap
Open the CleverTap platform in a new tab. From the left-hand menu, navigate to Settings.

At the top of the Settings page, you will see the Project ID and Passcode displayed.

• Project ID corresponds to your Account ID.
• Passcode corresponds to your Private API Key.

Copy the Project ID and Passcode from CleverTap and paste them into the Account ID and Private Key fields in the Nector CleverTap configuration. Once all details are entered, click Initialize.
The integration will usually be successfully initialized within about five minutes.
Step 5: Create an Event in Nector to Send to CleverTap
After the integration is initialized, in Nector click on Create Event to define which Nector events should be sent to CleverTap.

Choose the specific event you want to send to CleverTap. For example, you might select an event that occurs whenever a coupon is created, so that a notification can be sent to the customer and data can be passed to CleverTap.

Select the portal (channel or platform) on which you want this event to be triggered.


Once your event configuration is complete, click Create.

After creation, you can view event statistics in Nector, such as number of events sent, opens, clicks, and performance over a selected duration.
Step 6: Use Nector Events in CleverTap Journeys
Switch to the CleverTap platform and use the events sent from Nector as triggers in your Journeys.

Open an existing journey or create a new one. For example, you may have a cashback credit communication journey.


Within this journey, you will see an event such as wallet reward created that originates from Nector.

This event acts as the trigger whenever a customer is rewarded with coins in their wallet.

From this trigger, build out the rest of the journey according to your brand’s preferred communication channels and logic (e.g., push notifications, email, SMS).

This completes the integration and usage flow between CleverTap and Nector.
