# Configuring the Point Earning Widget on the Checkout Page

This process explains how to add and display the loyalty point earning widget on your Shopify checkout page so customers can see how many points they will earn with their purchase. This widget helps customers clearly see how many loyalty points they will earn on their purchase—right at checkout—encouraging engagement and repeat purchases.

### **Step 1: Open Your Shopify Theme Customizer**

Go to your Shopify admin and open the **Online Store** section. From there, select your current theme and click **Customize** to open the theme editor.

### **Step 2: Navigate to the Checkout and Customer Account Page**

Within the theme editor, use the page selector at the top to switch to the **Checkout & customer accounts** template so you can edit the checkout layout.

### **Step 3: Add the Point Earning Widget Block**

Scroll down the left-hand sections panel to the bottom and click **Add block**. In the list of available blocks, locate and select **Point Earning Widget** (you will also see the redemption offer option listed there).

### **Step 4: Confirm the Widget Placement on Checkout**

After selecting **Point Earning Widget**, the widget will be added to your checkout layout.

This widget will display how many loyalty points a customer can earn for the current order during checkout, making it visible directly on the checkout page.

### **Step 5: Review the Widget Preview in the Theme Editor**

Once the widget has been added, review its appearance in the theme editor preview to ensure it is placed correctly and displays as expected on the checkout page.

### **Step 6: Verify the Widget on Your Storefront Checkout**

Open your demo store or live store in a separate tab and proceed to the checkout page to see the widget in action.

You should see a message similar to “Complete this purchase to earn 2219 points,” indicating how many points the customer will earn with the current order. This helps customers decide how many points they can redeem now and how many they will earn with the purchase.
